Hi its been far too long since I posted an update so heres whats going on. Currently i’m having a small issue with my Work / Wife Work balance. so getting little time to spend coding. However I am in the process of writing a document that will be the introduction to the new version of phpadadmin, with key focus in two areas:
- Work Flow
- Resource Management
The actual ability to change administer active directory from a web interface is surprisingly easy to do. I now realise the meat of the project will be making use of that code in a way that a company could use in order to reduce its IT support costs. The work flow should allow a user to make changes to a resource and that change not occur until the manager and/or deputy manager of that resource approves the change. Then where users are creating additional resource i.e. users, shares etc. a costing should be assigned to that resource so that the IT can charge back.
Is this madness or is it how it would of been done from day one if us Nerds weren’t all power crazed fools?

I have uploaded the most complete version of php-AD-admin to the web (and on SVN). You can get it from the downloads link on the sidebar.
Those already familiar with earlier builds should have no issue with the install, however I will post new install instructions.
For the super keen, how love life on the bleeding edge, v0.6 has been uploaded to svn as well. V0.6 is a complete rewrite of the class, and a chance for me to correct some of the mistakes I have engineered in, and tidy the code up.
I will comment the code as much as possible this time.
V0.5 Details

I have managed to get all the features I want into v0.5, along with alot of other work starting to get the configuration into the DB. There is still a couple of major bugs to iron out before I release it. For example when you the first question to a user is never encrypts it WHY!!!!
As always work, life and beer continue to suck resource from the project, which slows progress. Though I continue to find the whole thing satisfying even though now it holds no real bearing on my current work.
Again theres appears to be loads of lurkers on the site, which is great speak up let me know where im going wrong or right!
Im also still fishing for help with the project, many hands etc, if you have anything great to contribute please do.

I have now competed moving the WIKI to its new home, and the Blog has followed it. Please excuse the new blog theme while i try my hardest to get it the same as the hacked monobook skin i have done for mediawiki.
On the coding front, im still ironing out some bugs. The self service password reset is very nearly ready for a release.
The wiki site is currently being moved to another host. Though yeti host have been very helpful, trying to get the site back up. I decided to bite the bullet and move it to a Linux hosting, a bit earlier than I had originally planned.
